Robert L. Cantrell is a VP at the company Landon IP, Inc. in Alexandria, VA, and president of the publishing company Center For Advantage, based in Arlington, VA. His primary focus is on developing innovation and intellectual property strategies for Fortune 500 companies in the United States, and his secondary focus is on working with strategic thinkers associated with the Department of Defense in Washington D.C. Robert is also a board member of the United Professional Sales Association and has launched a sales training course to selected customers for weekend workshops because they are fun to do and people ask him to do them.
Robert's professional background is in consulting and sales and includes prior employment at IBM/ROLM, Dean Witter, Thomson Information, and Manning & Napier. In addition to his business experience, Robert was an infantry platoon leader with the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles). His academic background includes undergraduate degrees in Biology and Military Science form Duke University and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, UK. Robert has given several hundred presentations and workshops on competitive strategy and competitive intelligence at companies and at conferences around the world.
